Last day!
Have a good summer. See you September 13th.

Wow! This school year has gone by so fast-especially with these furlough days which shorten our teaching Units.
Since April we have had our softball Unit combined with our jump rope Unit. Jumping rope is a great aerobic activity & lifetime activity. And it requires little space!
Our final PE rotation is the blacktop so we have been reviewing our basketball skills to take us into our final days of PE.
At the end of this week we clean out all lockers and take all accumulated items home for the summer.
The 8th graders are in the midst of graduation fun and I applaud all graduating students. Have a great time in high school and don't forget to ciontinue to work hard toward your goals.
I will only occasionally be checking school email this summer. I will be hiking & kayaking and enjoying my own children instead.
Have a great summer!

Testing is in the air.
We have been working on our state Physical Fitness test (Fitnessgram) with 7th graders. The window closes soon. Our goal is for each student to have results in the Healthy Fiotness Zone. 6th graders are attemting to complete the Preswedetial Fitness test. This is NOT state mandated.
In between these test, 6trh & 7th graers are working on soccer skills and 8th graders are working on football skills.
Don't forget to check my grading policiy link at the bottom and also Snapgrades to keep current with the progress of your child.

If you came to our PE field you would find 30-40 flying speeders which might remind you of badminton. Speedminton is a combination of Badminton & tennis. Large, lightweight racquet heads with a short handle. Speeders are like birdies but have weight on the end. We play singles & doubles without nets so set up is fairly easy. Great cardio vascular activity, great hand eye coordination activity and lots of fun!
Next week we move on to volleyball...
11/02
We have started our Adventure C.O.R.E. Unit and Speedminton Unit on the field on our two double days of PE. . Students are spending our single class Mondays by running either the Mile Timed Test or the Mile Fitness test. Rubrics are listed below.
So is our class grading policy. Please review with your child.
10/20/09
I have attached our class grading policy letter. Each student has been advised of this document and where to locate it. This will give student & parent a clear understanding of class expectations. If you have any questions, please email me. Don't forget to look at Grades on Snapgrade. This will give you an idea of your child's progress-but it is not a final grade.
In between the extremely hot days, the torrential rain, the assemblies, and the RAND survey, we have been focusing on our basketball skills & our jogging these past few weeks.

Welcome students & parents to my Physical Education homepage. This is where you will go to find my announcements including homework assignments. You will need to click at the bottom of my page to download any forms or click your grade level for homework assignments or go to Snapgrades to review grades.
This will be an exciting year for all of us as we challenge ourselves to be the best that we can be.
If your child has not turned in his/her signed PE Department letter, you can downlload it below, sign it and turn it in. 7th & 8th grades forms were due last week and 6th grades are due this week!
